Chiropractic Benefits

Spinal Pain Relief

Because so many people suffer from spine pain, it’s important for you to try to keep your spine as healthy as possible. Following simple posture, lifting, and healthy lifestyle guidelines can help you keep your back in good shape.

Headache Relief

If you have a headache, you’re not alone. Nine out of 10 Americans suffer from headaches. Some are occasional, some frequent, some are dull and throbbing, and some cause debilitating pain and nausea. Research shows that spinal manipulation – one of the primary treatments provided by doctors of chiropractic – may be an effective treatment option for tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.

Arthritis Joint Pain Relief

The movements that you perform on a daily basis are critical to long-term joint health, as are proper nutrition, a healthy exercise regimen, and a healthy lifestyle. Proper lifting is also important. (See sidebar on lifting at bottom of this page.) Moving a joint through its full range of motion serves several important purposes. Joints are not supplied directly with blood as are other organs within the body, so the saying “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it” applies to joint function.

Decreased Stiffness

Chiropractic services are used most often to treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. Chiropractors practice a hands-on, drug-free approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Regular visits can help keep your stiffness to a minimum or eliminate it.

Joint Subluxation

A subluxation is a condition that occurs when a joint begins to dislocate.

Signs Of Subluxation

  • Pain around the injured joint.

  • A sensation of being unstable.

  • Swelling of the joint.

  • Limited flexibility of the joint.

Treatment Of Subluxation

  • Rest: Resting the joint may require the use of a splint, sling, or crutches.

  • Ice: Icing an injured joint can be a very helpful step to reduce inflammation.

  • Elevate: Elevation is helpful to reduce swelling and pain.

  • Supports or Braces: Braces are often helpful at controlling the excessive motion of an unstable joint.
